Getting ready for Saxony
Knowing the language
International programmes
For German-language study programmes, international applicants must pass a language test for university admission. All language certificates must be issued in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Being admitted
International applicants
To find out whether your school leaving certificate qualifies you to study at a German university or whether you need to attend a preparatory course (for international applicants), check the DAAD admissions database or the anabin website of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).

Getting support
Wide range of services
The Studentenwerke (student unions) support students during their studies with a wide range of services. They offer varied meals in the canteens and cafeterias, affordable shared or individual apartments in the halls of residence, and support with student financing, as well as with social, psychosocial and legal issues. In addition, the Studentenwerke promote the coexistence of German and foreign students, and the children of students are lovingly cared for in the children's facilities.
